This week I was invited by Virgin America to cover the launch of two new lines from California to Florida (SFO – FLL & LAX – FLL), where we had the chance to interview CEO David Cush and Richard Branson himself. Check out the full write-up and video below on Gadling.

Typhoon Nangka

A week ago, I was on a plane from Beijing to Hong Kong, after having taken the train from Hong Kong to Beijing for the weekend. As I was on that flight, I was making a mental list of all the things I had to do during my last 36 hours in Hong Kong, and then roughly 36 hours later, I was on a plane back to California.

And that is where I write this to you now – after a day at the beach, and a weekend spent with family & friends. It’s hard to think that six months passed while I was in Hong Kong, but I think I’ll always look back on it as a fantastic period of personal growth and introspection. And I owe alot of that to Joe, who not only made it possible, but challenged me and pushed me to become a better person.

Jill & Kevin’s Wedding

I had to share this. Possibly one of the most fun videos I’ve seen in a long time. There’s just something about pure happiness being displayed in a setting reserved for somberness that gets me. So great.

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen

Yesterday I wandered through a neighborhood known as the midlevels, which is most well known as an expensive residential area, filled with expats and well-off locals.

In my wanderings, I stumbled upon the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen museum – a beautiful mansion that’s been converted into a museum based around the life of a revolutionary that is considered to be the “father of modern China”.

I’m writing a full article for Gadling, but in the meantime here is a short Youtube video about him. Really fascinating life.

Pauley

I had to upload this video for a friend yesterday, and so I thought I’d share with you all too. It was the first video I did in Marina Goldovskaya’s class – the assignment was to capture the essence of a space. I think the ending is a little weak, but I’m planning on re-editing soon. Comments for improvement?

Project Excelsior

Ready to see something amazing? It’s even better than the wingsuit video.

I stumbled upon this two years ago, and rediscovered it last night. Before I show you, I have to give you the background of the subject. Continue reading ‘Project Excelsior’

Polite Distances

Am I wrong when I make the assumption that this is a universal question in our everyday social interactions?

Everything’s Amazing, Nobody’s Happy

A funny video I was sent a few weeks ago. This partially sums up one of the inner dialogues I had after coming back from Tanzania…

Louis CK on Late Show with Conan O’Brien. “Everything’s Amazing, Nobody’s Happy”

Marlboro Marine

I often don’t care to see the real side of war. I prefer the CNN live coverage, broadcast from the safety of media/journalist’s boundaries.

A recent find mentioned in Joe Liao’s journal, shows the other side of war. A more personal and intimate side. I hope you can spare the time to watch.

Life Goal #4 : Wingsuit Jumping

This entry needs no words. This is definitely one of my new Life Goals.
